Leigh War Memorial

Leigh War Memorial is situated on Church Street, Leigh, Lancashire. The dedication and unveiling took place at 3pm. 30th. September 1922. After a vote of thanks from General Sir Beauvoir De Lisle, the Chairman of the Memorial Committee, Counncillor Jos. Ashworth J.P. formerly handed over the memorial to the Mayor of Leigh, George Holden Esq. The local company of the 5th. Battalion Manchester Regiment and ex-servicemen laid wreaths. On conclusion of the ceremony the public entered the gardens to lay wreaths and pay their respects to the fallen.
