Remembering the staff of Martins Bank and the Bank of Liverpool, and their constituent banks, commemorated on Bank of Liverpool & Martins Ltd memorials and Barclays Bank books of remembrance. Martins Bank merged with Bank of Liverpool in 1918 to form Bank of Liverpool and Martins Limited, renamed Liverpool & Martins Bank in 1928, and then acquired by Barclays Bank in 1968. A bronze WW1 memorial tablet was produced for Bank of Liverpool & Martins, designed to be cast several times, and was installed in 1922-23 at Head Office in Water Street in Liverpool, the London Office at 68 Lombard Street, and the District Offices. The one at Water Street is still in situ, although the building is no longer a bank. There is also a memorial on permanent display at Barclays Head Office at 1 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf. A book of remembrance is also on display there. Further information about the person may also be available in Barclays Group Archives https://www.archive.barclays.com/ or Martins Bank Archive http://www.martinsbank.co.uk/ .
