Commanding Officers of the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry

Successive Commanding Officers of the 1st Line Battalion (which later became the 14th (F&FY) Battalion Royal Highlanders) from the start of the Territorial period, during the war and beyond. In 1908 the Regiment were riding horses, from 1915 footslogging in Gallipoli, Egypt, Palestine, France and Belgium and post war were in armoured cars. In order they are T H Erskine (pre war but served as 2nd in command of the 2nd line during it), A Mitchell, J Gilmour, J Younger, J M Mackenzie and D D Ogilvie. The post war commanders were all WW1 veterans until the late 1930's. M E Lindsay, R O Hutchison, U E C Carnegy-Carnegy of Lour, W C G Black. The first commander who was not a veteran was R G Sharp who was killed in action with the Regiment in 1940, he was a younger brother of one of the WW1 adjutants Captain H S Sharp.
