I have a database of 52 people who appeared in 'Who's Who', and lived in Yateley during some part of their lives. Many served in WW1. To create their #LifeStory I shall take their entry in 'Who was Who' as the starting point. During WW1 there was a much greater turnover in Yateley's population than we thought. Probably proximity to Sandhurst, Aldershot and Farnborough was a cause. The interwar years saw a big influx of 'top brass' who had played significant roles in WW1. It is a sad fact that I researched many of these men in 2004 when I was researching their sons -- killed in WW2.
