Stoker Petty Officer Herbert John Mahoney married Private Patrick Joseph Barrett's sister-in-law Emily Luscombe in 1924. They all continued to live in and around Devonport and Stonehouse in Plymouth, until Stoker Petty Officer Herbert John Mahoney was killed on board HMS Basilisk on 1st June 1940 off Dunkirk, after being recalled to the Royal Navy in World War 2. Private Patrick Joseph Barrett died of natural causes in Plymouth on February 25th 1956.
