Yvonne FitzRoy wrote a book, with this title, about her experiences as an Orderly serving with the London Unit of the Scottish Women's Hospital in Rumania and Russia. Seventy-five women sailed from Liverpool to Archangel on 30 Aug 1916. Miss FitzRoy arrived back in London on the 7 Jun 1917. The Chief Medical Officer, Dr Elsie Inglis, arrived back in Newcastle on 24 Nov 1917, and died two days later. In total 102 women and two men served in this mission, some for the whole time, others replacing those who returned home -- but who were they?
