HMS Sparrowhawk at the Battle of Jutland
HMS Sparrowhawk was sunk on 1 June 1916 after a collision with HMS Broke at the battle of Jutland. Six of her crew were killed. This Community also provides details of those that are known to have served onboard the ship at the battle. ------- At 7.30 a.m., " Marksman " reported to the Commander in-Chief that he was endeavouring to tow " Sparrowhawk " stern first. At 8.5 a.m. " Marksman " reported that hawser had parted, and on receipt of approval from Vice-Admiral Commanding, First Battle Squadron, " Sparrowhawk " was sunk at 56° 8' N. 6° 10' E.
