H.M.S. 'Newmarket' 17th July 1917

An auxiliary minesweeper of 833 tons, formerly owned by the Great Eastern Railway Company, 'Newmarket' was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine 'UC-38' on 17th July 1917, south of Nikaria Island in the Aegean Sea. 70 lives were lost.
