The Royal Berkshire Regiment.
The 8th Royal Berkshire Battalion was formed in Reading in September 1914 as part of K3 and attached as Army troops to the 26th Division. Move to Salisbury Plain and returned to billets in Reading in November 1914. Went to Sutton Veny in May 1915. 8th of August 1915, left Division and landed at Le Havre. Transferred to 1st Brigade in 1st Division 2nd February 1918; transferred to 53rd Brigade in (18th) Eastern Division. I have added 1st, Royal Berkshire Battalion to this Community Page, because men that served in these Battalions are remembered on the Loos Memorial Panel with the 8th Battalion.
