RNAS officers and ratings, at this establishment set up by Wing Commander Brock, RNVR. Many took part in the Zeebrugge Raid, operating the smoke screen equipment, or in a few cases, the manual or the static flamethrowers. Lieutenant Hewett's report, contained as the 35th enclosure in file ADM 137/3894 (Reports on Zeebrugge and Ostend operations - Records used for Official History, First World War) lists the men in the parties on the Vindictive, Iris and Daffodil.
