Remembering the officers and men of the 15th (Service) Battalion Royal Scots (Edinburgh City) who died on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, 1 July 1916. Despite its very Scottish title the battalion had recruited very heavily in the northwest of England and this is reflected in the casualty list.
