15th (Service) Battalion Royal Scots (Edinburgh City) 1st July 1916

Remembering the officers and men of the 15th (Service) Battalion Royal Scots (Edinburgh City) who died on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, 1 July 1916. Despite its very Scottish title the battalion had recruited very heavily in the northwest of England and this is reflected in the casualty list.
