Jim and his four brothers

James Friend Shaw died on 31st August 1917, aged 20, and is buried at Mendinghem Military Cemetery in Belgium. The inscription on his CWGC headstone, as requested by his father, reads "IN LOVING MEMORY / OF JIM & HIS FOUR BROTHERS / KILLED IN ACTION / UNITED IN DEATH". This community sets out to tell the brothers' stories.
