William, Frederick, John and Kenneth were the sons of general practitioner Edward Hutchings and his wife Catherine, who lived in Southborough in Kent. Kenneth Hutchings was a cricketer who played for Kent and England, and was killed at the Somme. Two of his three brothers also played cricket for Kent, and all three of his brothers served in WW1, and were all either very seriously wounded or accidentally injured whilst serving. This community remembers the family.
