In St Peters Church in Soberton, Hampshire, is a brass plaque with the inscription "IN LOVING MEMORY OF/ THE FOUR BELOVED SONS & SON-IN-LAW OF/ JOHN AND MARY TWYNHAM/ OF SOBERTON HOUSE./ WILLIAM HUGH TWYNAM/ CORPORAL 7TH BATT CANADIAN REGT./ KILLED IN ACTION IN FRANCE APRIL 24TH 1915; JOHN TWYNAM/ STAFF SERGT. SOUTH AFRICAN MOUNTED RIFLES/ KILLED BY LIGHTNING AT WINDHOEK WHILE ON DUTY/ NOV. 3RD 1914./ HUGH TWYNAM/ LIEUT. R.N.R. DROWNED IN SUBMARINE/ JANUARY 19TH 1917./ GODFREY TWYNAM/ LIEUT. 1TH BORDER REGT./ KILLED IN ACTION IN FRANCE NOV. 12TH 1916./ GEOFFREY MATTHEW GEORGE CULLEY/ CAPT. 11TH ROYAL WEST KENT REGT./ THE BELOVED HUSBAND OF ELIZABETH FRANCIS CULLEY/ KILLED IN ACTION IN FRANCE SEPT. 15TH 1916./ WHO ALL GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR KING & COUNTRY/" There was also another brother, Charles, who served in the Middlesex Regiment and Machine Gun Corps, and survived the war. This community remembers the family.
