A remembrance of the men and women who served in WWI who have an association with the Mount Forest area. The community has grown from two items in the Mount Forest archives, a list of some of the members of the 153rd Battalion CEF, and the book "Memories of Mount Forest" based on articles from a local newspaper and published for Canada's 50th anniversary of confederation in 1927. Online copy at http://www.ourroots.ca/toc.aspx?id=3702&qryID=a35660d1-b945-4bbb-b533-3e9495715b4e . Mount Forest is proud to have two recipients of the Victoria Cross in WWI among the men and women who are remembered. In June 2017 many of the members of the 153rd Battalion from other parts of SW Ontario were moved into a separate community.
