Ashville College, Harrogate

Ashville College, Harrogate

Remembering the lives of pupils and staff of Ashville College, in Harrogate, Yorkshire, who served in WW1. Ashville was the first school to be founded by the United Methodist Free Church and has a heritage that dates back to 1875, when the Church Assembly agreed to establish a college that "promoted a sound and advanced education". See the separate associated communities for those who attended New College in Harrogate (https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/community/4101) which was purchased by Ashville in 1929, and Elmfield College in York (https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/community/4102) which merged with Ashville in 1932.
