This Community connects three men who served in the war and who are linked to the Winnie the Pooh stories. Author A A Milne was inspired to write after seeing Winnipeg the bear at London Zoo, a mascot kept by Harry Colebourn of the Canadian Army. In the 1920s, Milne approached E H Shepard to illustrate his famous stories about the bear.
