During WW1 the Chichester City Club helped by collecting for war charities, and giving comfort to the troops. Wounded soldiers were offered Honorary Membership. A memorial clock at the Club was unveiled in the presence of the Mayor of Chichester at 11 am on 11th November 1919, and is still on display in the Club today. Inscribed on the clock’s plaque are the names of nineteen Club members who died during the Great War, who are remembered in this community.
