Early Robotic Pioneers

Early Robotic Pioneers

A handful of inventors and mechanics who made some very early functioning "Robots" in the 1920s. Captain Alban Roberts who demonstrated his "Working Model Of The Kaiser" in 1920 and his later "Robot" in 1928. Captain W H Richards and A H Reffell who made "Eric the Robot" to open the Exhibition of the Society of Model Engineers in London in 1928 in place of the Duke of York. A recreation of "Eric" was funded through Kickstarter for the London Science Museum and is now part of their collections.
