The book of this title by Charlotte Zeepvat - ISBN 1783463759 - tells the story of the poet William Noel Hodgson. After a childhood at vicarages in Thornbury (Glos) and Berwick, he was a King's Scholar at Durham School and won a scholarship to Christ Church Oxford. On the outbreak of war he was commissioned into the 9th (Service) Battalion of the Devonshire Regiment where he won a Military Cross at the Battle of Loos. He was killed at the Somme on 1st July 1916.
