"CRICKETER SHELL SHOCKED" Pte Harry Emmett, East Lancashire Regiment "fine cricketer" and "many were of the opinion he would be a top notcher" 4. Alfred Pewtress represented Rawtenstall on many occasions prior to the Great War (connect LCC Archive) before embarking on his professional career.
