"Mobbs' Own", or "Mobbs' Corps"
"D" Company of the 7th Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment. Edgar Mobbs had difficulty enlisting at the outbreak of war due to his age, so raised his own company of sporting men from Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, including rugby players, footballers, cricketers and athletes. Within days over 250 men had joined him. Two dozen men joined from Market Harborough and left the town on 14th September 1914 for Northampton and thence Sussex to begin their training. The company was known locally throughout the war as "Mobbs' Own" or "Mobbs' Corps". They served with distinction at the Hohenzollern Redoubt in September 1915.
