Fort George memorial in Belize, Central America
The memorial in the form of a tablet stands in the Memorial Park. Although located on the Central American mainland, Belize (formerly known as British Honduras) was commonly referred to under the collective terms of The Caribbean or British West Indies. Belize was garrisoned during the First World War by the British Honduras Territorial Force and 40 officers and men still lie buried in the following cemeteries which have become impossible to maintain: Belize City, Corozal, El Cayo, Orange Walk, Stann Creek. There is also a soldier from the West India Regiment 6766 Edwin Miller accepted for commemoration // complete
