"THE MONUMENT" - TOW LAW WAR MEMORIAL

"THE MONUMENT" - TOW LAW WAR MEMORIAL

The memorial is situated on the A68, at the southern end of Tow Law, on sharp right hand bend junction of Wolsingham Road with Bridge Street and High Street. It takes the form of a marble figure of a soldier upon two sandstone steps and a marble pedestal with ionic pilasters at each corner. A Soldier stands with rifle at the ready and gestures as though warding off the enemy. The names are listed mainly by Regiment with rank.
