Inspired by stories in the National Trust magazine August 2018 of how the landscape became the ultimate First World War memorial, and other unique memorials in the Trust's care. 14 peaks in the Lake District, Thurstaston Common on the Wirral peninsula, and Sharpenhoe Clappers in Bedfordshire were all gifted to the National Trust as memorials to the fallen. Includes other memorial gifts not mentioned in the magazine: Castle Crag, Borrowdale.
