The Gascoyne-Cecil brothers

The Gascoyne-Cecil brothers

Sons of Right Rev. Lord William Gascoyne-Cecil and Lady Florence Cecil. After her three sons died in the First World War, Lady Florence campaigned for the Imperial War Graves Commission to install headstones in the shape of a cross, rather than the neutral shape of headstone which was adopted.
