Remembering men who worked on mostly tea and rubber plantations in Sri Lanka when it was Ceylon. Includes the Ceylon Planters Rifle Corps (CPRC) and men who served in other regiments. The CPRC, founded in 1900, was part of the Ceylon Defence Force and made up mostly of European planters. The CPRC was deployed to defend the Suez Canal in 1914 and in mid-1915 became part of the ANZAC forces at Gallipoli. It was disbanded some time in 1916 after which most of its men joined other regiments.
