Those remembered on the war memorial in Great Bircham which also includes men from the villages of Bircham Tofts and Bircham Newton, and some of those who came home from the villages. The memorial includes the names of Pte E Easter, Sgt R. England and J M Osborne - records have not been found yet. Bircham Newton was a First World War Royal Flying Corps base and home to the largest British bomber of that period, the Handley Page V/1500
