Members of the extended Paddock family from the Walsall area of Staffordshire (now the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall in the West Midlands). The surname dates back to at least the 1630s in the area. In the 17th and 18th centuries it was sometimes spelt Parrock which, in this region, is an earlier form of the name that indicates Shropshire origins. Note: There will be other members of this community who cannot be identified, because so many WW1 British Army service records were destroyed during a German bombing raid in WW2.
