Men of the Herefordshire Regiment who died during training in the UK

A number of men of the Herefordshire Regiment died during training, the majority at Park Hall Camp, Oswestry, either at the camp itself or on leave. Many of them became ill within a very short time after their arrival, and there was considerable public concern about the conditions at the camp. A letter from the officer commanding the 1st Reserve Battalion of the Herefordshire Regiment was published in the Hereford Times, in an attempt to allay fears among the public; and the Mayor of Hereford raised the issue with the local MP.
