Preston Roll of Honour form for Gunner Craven.This is the Roll of Honour form completed and submitted by a relative of Gunner Alfred Ernest Craven for the Preston Memorial Roll of Honour in the Harris Library, Museum and Art Gallery, finished in 1927. Transcription: Name: Alfred Ernest Craven. Address: 323 Fletcher Road. Occupation: Munition Worker. Regiment: 2nd West Lancs R.F.A. Territorial Forces [Underlined]. Rank and Regimental Number: Gunner 681915. Date of Death: September 9th 1917. Place where killed or injury received: Near Ypres. Remarks:- Gunr. Craven was killed by a bomb, dropped by an hostile aeroplane, which passed over the camp where he had gone for a rest, after being in action. He joined the army in August 1915 & went to France the following February, & at the time he met his death was expecting getting home on leave.Contributed by:
