Title: the edinburgh gazette

Description: Captain Arnold Turnbull Orr Deas of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, Special Reserve, attached to 1/7th Bn Highland Light Infantry, Territorial Force. Attached to 157th Infantry Brigade, Head Quarters. For conspicuous Gallantry and resource near Moevers 27/September 1918. During the attack on the Hindenburg Line and Canal du Nord, he was sent to obtain information, and establish an observation post on a ridge, which was heavily shelled, and stayed there sending back important reports. Later he went forward and cleared up a doubtful situation. Again, when sent to give instructions to a battalion about to attack, he went forward and made valuable reconnaissance. He was untiring in his efforts to gain information of use.
