Halifax Courier 22 July 1916Report in local paper reporting a letter received from the front af the beginning of the Battle of the Somme. Report is confused and innaccurate. Letter from Harry GREAVES (not Geaves). Eventual facts were that Arthur CARTER (not Parker) was killed not wounded. Willie Taylor was indeed killed and that Walter Farrar had been wounded and was in hospital having been hiding in a shell hole for two days being sniped at.Contributed by:
