Gilbert Glover, in uniformWeek ending 31st March 1916 AFTER A YEAR Desborough Brothers Meet in Alexandria Two Desborough brothers, who are soldiers, have had a remarkable coincid - ence. Mr Gilbert Glover, who enlisted in the 3/4th Northants in November 1914, was sent out to Alexandria six weeks ago to make up the losses in the 1/4th Northants. He had not met his brother Geoffrey for a year. The latter, who had been expecting this draft for some time, went out to meet the newcomers and inquired of the first man he met whether any Desborough men were amongst them, as he was hoping to see his brother. How surprised and delighted to find that the man he accosted was his brother! They are sons of Mr Fred Glover, Rothwell Road, Desborough. Three sons are serving with the colours. The other is Frank, who is in training with the 3rd Northants in Kent. Geoffrey enlisted in September 1914. He went to the Gallipoli Peninsula and on evacuation removed to Cairo with his division.
