Taken in Spring 1940 in the back yard at 55 Grange Road. He is holding the silver tray that he received from Ropners after the Rockpool encounter with a U boat. Gwyneth, in her working apron, would not be photographed but having combed everybody's hair stood by the photographer telling us to smile
