Athur Hollway detailsTaken fron "Lest We Forget" , a pamplet about Badshot Lea War Memorial, by Maurice and Judy Hewins. Arthur's Army Records survive and show that when he first joined the army on 22nd August 1899 he did so under the name of Arthur James Pollard. On 24th January 1910 he gave a declaration that he was actually Arthur James Holloway. He married Edith Victoria Knight in Dublin, Ireland on 16?-3-1913 . (Both were declared to be English) Arthur was a real "old sweat" in the B E F. When his effects were returned to his wife. a watch was missing.Contributed by:
