Title: Birmingham Daily Post August 10, 1916

Description: CASUALTIES AMONG MIDLAND MEN sergeant W H Holroyd, Norfolk Regiment, whose death in action is announced in our obituary column, was the son of Mr and Mrs Holroyd, of Westfield Road, Edgbaston. He was educated at Mr Ridgeway's and at Bromsgrove School, where he became one of the "Gym, Six" and played in their first XV. At a later date he played one season for Moseley first team. He enlisted, along with his brother, J.O. Holroyd - whom he survived by only two days - in August, 1914.
