Title: Drawing: Capture of Falfemont Farm

Description: This drawing appeared in a magazine and showed an artists inpression of the site of Falfemont Farm on 5th September 1916, two days after Richard was killed. He remains one of the 'Missing of the Somme' and is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.

Title: Lizzie Howard (Richard's Widow) Le Treport 1917

Description: After Richard's death in September 1916, Lizzie Howard (Widow) joined the R222 East Lancashire Division, British Red Cross in April 1917, as a Voluntary Aid Detachment (VAD) General Service VAD and then a Ward Maid. She was based at No.3 British General Hospital Le Treport France Nov 1917 - Nov 1918. Lizzie left baby Arthur in the safe keeping of the Howard family in Swinton, raised mainly by his Aunty Beatrice until Lizzie returned from the war. Lizzie later remarried.

Title: Uncle Arthur and Nephew's

Description: Richard's younger Brother Arthur (Serving with Lancashire Fusilier's and later RFC) with Richard's son (Arthur) and Nephew William (junior) thought to be taken around June 1917 whilst Arthur was home on sick leave with damage to this left hand believed to have been incurred during a trenching accident (Reported to have been treated by a Casualty Clearing Station from Blackpool).
