Captin Eric rigdy Jones
Eric Rigby Jones fought in WW1 – and as we rightly commemorate the Irishmen and Women who served, fought and died during that conflict (and in my opinion it’s about time we did) – Eric Rigby-Jones an “adopted son” of Newbridge also served gallantly and was recognised “in despatches”. He served in “The King's Liverpool Regiment”, and was promoted to Second Lieutenant 6th August, 1915, and to Captain on the 9th Apr. 1921….still looking into this history and more research to be done.
