This is a picture of a soldier in an office. A typewriter can be seen on the right of this picture. This appears to be an example of the Oliver Visible Typewriter, produced between 1893 and 1926. The "visible" in the name refers to the fact that the typist could see what he or she was typing. Earlier typewriters had required the typist to type "blind".
