Died of wounds
On 4th February 1916 18 British soldiers were killed then the Germans detonated a camouflet near the British 3 level mine system. Sapper Peter Lane was one of them.

Colliery at CrookSapper Peter Lane was a coal hewer in civilian life. His duties at La Boiselle were similar. He died of his wounds there on 4th February 1916. We will remember.
