Title: Barclays Bank Active Service Register

Description: A register of Barclays staff on active service, arranged by local head office district. For each man it gives his branch/section at Barclays, whether married or single, the unit in which he was serving, his rank, salary, and a note if killed in action. Earlier entries contain full detail, whereas later entries often include just name. The data on the men’s salaries shows their normal bank salary, their Army pay, and how the bank made up the difference (and of course guaranteed their jobs for them).
