The Roll of Honour, which hangs in St Peter & St Paul's Church, Belton and lists 49 names of those from Belton who served in the Great War 1914 – 1919. Only the men’s names are listed, with a cross to signify those who died; no regiments are given.

2010 photo of the Old Dairy Cottage, Ringshall Road, Aldbury, where Herbert was born in 1883. it was taken by his great niece and is used with her permission.

Photo of Red Lodge, Ashridge, where the Flowers family lived and are recorded in the 1901 Census. The photo dates from approximately 1910.

Herbert Flowers at Longleat. The photo is from the family collection of Herbert's granddaughter, who notes: "28th July 1902. Herbert was employed as the first footman/under butler in the household. The house steward/butler at this time was J. Richardson. Herbert was part of a team of over 40 serving men and women at Longleat." Herbert left Longleat in 1907.

The staff at 39 Charles Street, Mayfair where Herbert worked from 1907 and is shown as a Footman in the 1911 Census. Herbert is second from the right on the back row of the photo. His future wife Nellie Taylor is also named on the 1911 Census but is not shown on the photo.

The marriage of Herbert's sister Annie Flowers to Henry Albert Gee took place at St Peter and St Paul's Church, Little Gaddesden on 20th June 1900, following which this photo was taken at Ashridge. Their mother Charlotte is seated on the right hand end of the row of chairs and their father Thomas 3rd in from the right. Their sister Lizzie, 19, is on the left hand chair with Herbert, 16, behind her, partly hidden by her hat. Their younger sister Dorothy, 4, is seated on the ground, front left with their brother Rupert, nearly 6, next to her.

Herbert, in RFA uniform and his wife Nellie with their son Ron - Herbert Ronald Flowers, born 13th September 1915. The child's appearance indicates that he was aged about 1 year, so the photo would have been taken in 1916.

Royal Artillery First World War Cap Badge, included here as Herbert Flowers served in the Royal Garrison Artillery.

The 2018 Revised Roll of Honour, which now hangs in St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Little Gaddesden in addition to the earlier Roll. The name of Herbert Flowers, Royal Garrison Artillery has been added.
