2nd Lieutenant Dudley Collins Francis of the 5th battalion, the Yorks and Lancs Regiment. (Returned in 1914 from South Africa and joined the 18th (Public Schools) Battalion, the Royal Fusiliers.) Son of Harry and Alice Mary Francis (née Collins) of Plymouth.
Born in Devonport in the September Quarter of 1887, attended Plymouth College before Manchester University to study engineering. He became Chief Assistant Civil Engineer, Rand Water Board, Johannesburg.
Died 1 December 1916, aged 29.
