Marriage of Ernest Richard Hopkins

Marriage took place at St. Michael's Parish Church, Cropthorne, Worcestershire, witnesses were the bride's sister Beatrice Louisa Ireland and a family friend, F.Davis. Bride, groom and both witnesses all signed the register. Sabina did not give her true age when she got married, she was actually 12 years older than her husband.

1901 Census shows Ernest Richard Hopkins, his wife Sabina and children Phyllis, Dorothy and baby Arthur LLewelyn Hopkins (aged 4 months). Arthur died aged 15 months on 5 March 1902 at home in Cropthorne, Worcestershire.

1911 Census Ernest Richard Hopkins and family

1911 Census shows Ernest Richard, his wife Sabina and daughters Phyllis Maud, Dorothy May and Daisy Emma Hopkins, living at Cropthorne, Pershore, Worcestershire. The couple had had another daughter, Minnie Hopkins, born in late 1905 and dying, aged two, in early 1908.

Attestation of Ernest Richard Hopkins

Ernest Richard Hopkins enlisted at the Guildhall Recruiting Office, 42 High Street, Worcester on 22 February 1915, his nineteenth wedding anniversary. He was aged 39 years 9 months, not 37 years 9 months as he stated on his attestation.
