Additional: I found this photo in a second hand bookshop at Merton Abbey Mills in the 1990s. I thought he deserved to be remembered. A little digging on Ancestry.com appears to indicate that prior to enlistment he was a journalist from Croydon. I presume his photo was one of the effects taken away at the death of a sibling or other close relation.
