Additional: Cassie's VAD record shows that after the birth of her son she continued work as a VAD at this Mayfair, London Hospital for Officers at 24 Park Street, which opened on 19th November 1914 in a house lent by Granville Farquhar. The hospital had 19 beds and was designated a Class A Hospital. The nursing staff consisted of 4 trained nurses, and 20 full-time and 25 part-time VADs from the Westminster Division.

Additional: Cassie's VAD record shows she was posted to France 2 March 1916. This was Liverpool Merchants' Hospital (No.6 Hospital British Red Cross), Etaples, Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France, which was the major hospital in the European theatre. The hospital was staffed by volunteers from Liverpool. It was constructed and equipped from funds raised by members of the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce. The intention was to design a hospital that could be easily assembled, then dismantled and moved as necessary.
