He was my best chum while in the 26th RE and we were both together at the time of being hit. “Mack” as we generally called him, was one of the best & proved to me a good chum to the last.”

Title: Visiting Alex McKechan's Grave 1968

Description: This is a Record my Grandfather Alexander Shepherd Rattray made after visiting Alexander McKechan's Grave in France.

Additional: My Parents who were living in Brussels took my Grandfather, Alexander Shepherd Rattray, to PREMONT British Cemetery in 1968 to pay his respects. He pressed this Rose from Alexander's Grave as a memory. (sadly only the stem remains and a watermark of the petals and leaves) The ribbon was attached to the pressing with a paperclip, but I don't know what it relates to.
