Portrait photograph of Hugh Spencer Mathews14 Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment Captain Mathews was reported missing, aged 32, somewhere between Bois de Foureaux and Delville Wood on 23 July 1916 during the Battle of the Somme. His remains were subsequently found and he is buried at Caterpillar Valley Cemetery, Longueval.
