Arthur Merwood with Frank Patey, Commando, photographed at 171 or 173 Stanmore Lane Winchester in 1942. Frank Patey was a Commando billeted with Frank Gilmour's family, who lived at 173 Stanmore Lane. Arthur Merwood lived at 171 Stanmore Lane. Arthur appears to be wearing his Silver War Medal from WW1. The Commandos were based at The Grange in St Cross Road Winchester. Frank Patey came from Hope Cove, South Devon.
